Adults

Adult ministry
at Emmanuel takes place primarily in our Life Community Groups. We define a “Life Community” (small group) as follows: an intentional gathering of 6-12 people on a regular time schedule with a common purpose of spiritual growth in Christ through Bible study (knowledge, understanding, application), prayer, fellowship (caring/bearing/sharing), service and outreach.

All of our Life Communities utilize a method of discipleship called “Oral Bible Study” method. We use 35 stories per year by which we follow the “thread of redemption” through the Old and New Testament, through the Gospels, and through Prophecy.

Our Life Communities meet on various nights of the week in member’s homes throughout Olympia, Tumwater, and Lacey. We also have a limited number of Life Communities which meet on site on Sunday evenings for parents who have kids in our Children’s Choir Ministry, as well as on Wednesday evenings for parents who have kids in Awana. (See the Life Community page as to why we believe small groups are central to the Church.)

To join a Life Community, simply download a Small Group Pre-Registration Form and return it completed to the church office, or you can pick one up at the Welcome Center. Once we've received your information, we will try our best to get you into an existing group, or into a newly forming group as they start.

If you would like to be trained as a Life Community leader/facilitator, please contact Pastor Art Cosgrove at 352-9044 for the details.

Equipping U adult classes are also provided on Sunday morning at both services (9:30am & 11:15am).These classes provide instruction in various areas of Christian life (Bible Overview, Foundations of Christian Living, Spiritual Warfare, Power of Prayer, The Bible and How to Study It, The Great Commission, Fruit of the Spirit, Sharing Your Faith, Spiritual Gifts, etc.) The classes also provide periodic Book surveys and topical studies. All classes are provided on a quarterly basis. Call the church office for current classes being offered.

We also have several other ways in which to serve and grow through:
